The web app
Surfaces: web app. For a cloud workspace, everything here is at https://<your-workspace>.kcap.ai. On the local edition the same pages are served by the server on your own machine: kcap local open opens them in your browser, and kcap local status shows the address
The dashboard
Section titled “The dashboard”The front page brings together your recent work and what needs you
- Your last 7 days: sessions, active time, tokens, cached tokens and estimated cost, with the previous period for comparison. Active time adds session durations, so parallel sessions can exceed the clock. Cost is an estimate from stored usage and known model prices; a blank means no data, not zero
- What to do next: the first rows of your next-work feed, each with its reason, and Work on this to hand one to a hosted agent
- Needs you: agents waiting for an answer or a permission, and work that failed
- Pick up where you left off, Your work items, Recent outcomes, Recently learned and Pending approvals round it out. An empty section means there is nothing, not that something is missing
Everything updates live. A Catching up or Rebuilding notice above a list means the server is still processing recent events and the list may be incomplete for a while
Scope: one repository, one project, or everything
Section titled “Scope: one repository, one project, or everything”Scope, near the top of the sidebar, chooses what you are looking at: All repositories, one repository, or a project. Search by name. The URL carries the scope, so a copied link opens the same view for someone who has access
Scope filters; it never grants. A private session stays invisible whatever scope you pick
Projects
Section titled “Projects”A project groups repositories that belong to one effort, with its own membership, so that a session can be shared with “everyone on this project” and so that Insights, Evals and Knowledge can be read across the group. Projects are a Team and Enterprise feature
- Open Scope and choose New project
- Name it, then open its settings (the gear beside it in the scope menu, or
/project/<slug>/settings) - Add repositories and members. Owners can add organisation members directly and approve join requests
From the terminal, kcap projects lists the projects you can see and kcap project <slug> shows one
Search
Section titled “Search”Search in the sidebar opens the command palette. Type a session title, a repository, a person, a work item or a page name and jump to it. It is the fastest way to a thing you already know the name of
The bell
Section titled “The bell”Notifications collect in the inbox behind the bell: an agent waiting for you, a session outcome, a collision with a teammate’s work, an evaluation finishing, a knowledge approval waiting on you. Notifications covers what arrives, Slack delivery and your preferences
Help me get unstuck
Section titled “Help me get unstuck”The dashboard is empty. Nothing has been stored in the selected scope yet, or your default visibility is private and you are signed in as a different identity than the CLI. kcap whoami in a terminal shows which identity the CLI is storing under
A repository shows no session count. You cannot see any sessions in it. Counts only include sessions you can read
Insights or Work items is missing from the sidebar. They are Team and Enterprise features; on Free the pages show what the plan includes
A link someone sent opens a different scope. The scope is part of the URL, so a link carries the repository or project the sender had selected when they copied it. Pick the scope you want from the Scope menu; if you are sending a link, select the scope first and then copy the address
