Take the tour

The guided tour is a skill setup installed into your coding agent. It runs in the agent, not in the web app, and it uses your own stored history for its examples. kcap setup ends by telling you how to start it; if you skipped that, open your desired coding agent in any repository and type:

Start kcap guided tour

It shows seven cards, one per reply. Type next to advance and stop to leave. Anything else you type is treated as a real question: the agent answers it from your history, then resumes the tour where you left it. Every question on the cards works on every plan; a few answers are thinner on Free, where work items and projects are not available

  1. Welcome. What kcap is in one sentence, and three questions to try straight away: whether the plan left loose ends, what was finished and checked, and what sits behind a pull request
  2. Capture. What kcap stores, and a table of your team’s most active repositories with session counts and estimated cost (on Team and Enterprise), or the number of your own sessions kcap already holds
  3. Investigate. Questions that search the stored history: yesterday’s loose ends, earlier work on a feature, something unfinished from last month, what the team did yesterday
  4. Collaborate. Questions that cross people and agents: continue your own session from another agent after hitting a usage limit, pick up a sick teammate’s work, see who else is on a feature, learn how a teammate solved a problem. The teammates named are real ones from your recent sessions
  5. Review. Questions that start review flows: a spec review, a code review of the PR you are about to open, a review of a teammate’s PR, each with a reviewer from a different vendor than the agent you are in
  6. Use. Questions that put the history to work: where you left off and what to do next, resuming a session, reusing a pattern from another feature, what is blocking a task
  7. Reuse. Questions that turn sessions into lessons: evaluate your last session, promote what evaluations found into agent instructions, remember a fix for every agent, see which lessons keep recurring across the team

If kcap is not installed or signed in when you start the tour, the agent says so and offers to set it up before beginning
