Kurrent, the event-native data platform innovator previously known as Event Store, is announcing that Kurrent Cloud—the company’s event-native data platform for storing and streaming—now supports public internet access. This addition removes the need for private networking infrastructure, ultimately reducing setup costs and operational overhead by using public internet access.

With the availability of public internet access for Kurrent Cloud, developers are afforded greater ease in instantly spinning up and taking down Kurrent clusters with Kurrent Cloud’s pay-as-you-go model. Developers can more quickly deploy and manage their backend data architectures for real-time and AI-ready applications, benefiting from not having to configure private networks, VPNs, or VPC peering. This is particularly advantageous for developers constrained by limited access to cloud resources, according to Kurrent.

“Our goal is to simplify the development process for event-driven systems. This latest update allows users to spin up new clusters and connect instantly. By removing the need for intricate networking configurations, Kurrent Cloud offers seamless access that enables developers to focus on building and scaling their applications without administrative roadblocks,” said Alexey Zimarev, head of product at Kurrent. “These enhancements will transform the way developers interact with Kurrent Cloud, expand integration possibilities, and fuel innovation.”

Some of the key advantages of Kurrent Cloud’s public internet access support include:

  • Immediate connectivity that empowers developer workflows by allowing them to instantly create Kurrent clusters. Other team members—regardless of distribution—can immediately and easily connect and collaborate on the cluster.
  • Accelerated development and collaboration across regions, team distributions, and remote environments, expediting the development lifecycle—from prototyping to faster iteration cycles for testing and validation.
  • Enhanced debugging with direct cluster access, simplifying troubleshooting.
  • Secure, reliable, simplified access that forwards Kurrent’s commitment to security and data integrity and protection.

In addition to public internet access support, Kurrent is debuting a suite of connectors for Apache Kafka, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, HTTP (webhook), and more. By offering simplified integration with popular developer tools, frameworks, and third-party services, Kurrent enables developers to create more dynamic and responsive applications, according to the company. These connectors also serve to streamline data flows from Kurrent to other systems, and cultivates a robust ecosystem for tailoring solutions to specific business needs.

“We’re dedicated to meeting the dynamic needs of today’s enterprises. By continuously enhancing our offerings, we empower our customers to harness the full potential of event-driven architectures to store and stream complete data journeys for analytics, AI, and countless other downstream use cases,” said Kirk Dunn, CEO at Kurrent. “This new capability empowers developers with unprecedented ease of use, flexibility, and speed, aligning with Kurrent's mission to provide a superior developer experience in building resilient, event-native applications.”
